Welcome to our practice! We are an evidence-based group of Social Workers and Psychotherapists, offering our clients a wide range of experience and areas of specialty.

WHO WE WORK WITH

We provide therapy in Kitchener-Waterloo and across Ontario to individual adults who are searching for therapy for a variety of reasons. Our clinicians are experienced in working with clients who have experienced recent stress or trauma, as well as historic abuse and trauma, life transitions, and relationship issues. We regularly work with first responders and individuals of all genders and sexual orientations.

Psychotherapy

Individual therapy is customized to your unique needs and objectives. In individual therapy, we will explore your background and life experiences, and from this, we will establish goals that best fit your life. Psychotherapy allows you to create lasting change by identifying and healing the root of your pain or insecurity using evidence-based methods and with the support of a therapist in your corner.

Therapy For Trauma

Trauma can be caused by a single incident, such as an assault or accident, or it can be caused by multiple events throughout a person’s life. Even if the trauma is over, the painful feelings can continue to be triggered resulting in distressing mental symptoms. Our experienced therapists use a wide variety of approaches to rework & build new pathways in your brain to overcome to effects of trauma. Some of our approaches include EMDR, IFS, Somatic Therapy, CBT, Attachment therapy, hypnotherapy, and more

Therapy For Anxiety, Stress and Mood

It is normal to feel stressed and anxious from time to time, but if you are experiencing chronic feelings of stress and uncertainty that interfere with your day-to-day functioning, counselling can help. These feelings may be new for you, related to a recent or past event, or something you’ve dealt with your entire life. Regardless, therapy can provide insight into the root causes of anxiety, and help you develop coping skills for when you find yourself feeling anxious or stressed.

Therapy For Loss and Grief

When we experience a loss, whether in the form of a loved one, relationship, or opportunity,  it can weigh heavily on us for some time, often leaving us with a feeling of longing for what was lost. EMDR Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an integrative type of psychotherapy that can assist individuals in healing from emotional distress that results from past disturbing life experiences or traumas. EMDR is a unique and very effective type of trauma therapy that uses bi-lateral stimulation to treat & heal your brain.

There are many types of therapists and counselling services, so it can be easy to feel overwhelmed and unsure of where to begin. Every practitioner brings a unique perspective, experience, and training, and finding the right fit is an important part of having a good experience.

The good news is that you don’t have to choose between one type of therapy or another. While all our therapists are registered counsellors, many of our therapists draw on multiple modalities in their approach to therapy.
