OUR THERAPY SERVICES

Psychotherapy

Individual therapy is an opportunity for you to explore your background and past experiences, and identify anything that may be holding you back from the life you want to live. Psychotherapy is completely customized to your unique needs and objectives. Psychotherapy allows you to create lasting change by identifying and healing the root of your pain or insecurity using evidence-based methods and with the support of a therapist in your corner.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma can be caused by a single incident, such as an assault or accident, or it can be caused by multiple past events.  Even once the trauma is over, the painful feelings can continue to be triggered resulting in distressing mental symptoms. Our experienced therapists use a wide variety of approaches to rework & build new pathways in your brain to overcome the effects of trauma. Some of our approaches to online trauma therapy include EMDR, IFS, Somatic Therapy, CBT, Attachment therapy, hypnotherapy, and more. All of which can be done safely and effectively virtually and in-person.

Therapy For Anxiety, Stress and Mood

It is normal to feel stressed and anxious from time to time, but if you are experiencing chronic feelings of stress and uncertainty that interfere with your day-to-day functioning, counselling can help. Therapy can provide insight into the root causes of your feelings and emotions, and help you to develop coping strategies for when you find yourself feeling stressed, anxious or down.

Loss & Grief Therapy

When we experience a loss, whether that loss stems from losing a loved one, job, big opportunity, or relationship, it can weigh heavily on us for some time. Working with a grief therapist is an effective way to gain support and a secure environment to explore our sadness and grief, express our feelings about the loss, and heal from its wounds.

Therapy For Identity and Self Image

A sense of self can be easily interrupted throughout one’s life via stress, change, and trauma. Some people may feel that they’ve never truly known themselves, while others may feel like a piece of themselves is missing. Therapy for identity & self-image can be an effective way to manage feelings of body image concerns, low self-esteem or self-worth, and other related concerns.

EMDR Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an integrative type of psychotherapy that can assist individuals in healing from emotional distress that results from past disturbing life experiences or traumas. EMDR has been gaining extreme popularity recently as it is a very effective, and often more rapid form of therapy.

What Kind Of Therapist Do I Need?

Choosing the right therapist for counselling can be a daunting task. With so many types of therapists and counselling services, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and unsure of where to start. When choosing a therapist, it’s important to consider your goals and reasons for choosing counselling. Every practitioner brings a unique perspective, experience, and training, and finding the right fit is an important part of having a good experience.

The good news is that you don’t have to choose between one type of therapy or another. While all our therapists are registered counsellors, many of our therapists draw on multiple modalities in their approach to therapy. If you are struggling with a particular issue, such as PTSD, trauma, relationship challenges, anxiety, or a recent loss, we invite you to review our ‘Meet Our Therapists’ page to read more about the unique approaches of our practitioners.
