As a full-service agency, we offer individual psychotherapy tailored to address a number of concerns, including really anything that might bring you to therapy. Individual therapy is designed to meet your unique needs and goals. It entails learning about your background and life experiences and establishing goals to accomplish during your time in counselling. If you’re feeling like work, relationships, or life, in general, is getting too much to bear, we can help.
We believe that our personal stories and journeys are the roots that provide us with the growth opportunities and foundations for strength and resilience. However, our stories can also hold experiences that cause pain, insecurity, and doubt. Psychotherapy is an opportunity to explore these stories, address our stuck points, and create lasting change in our lives. We currently offer psychotherapy sessions in-person at our office in London, ON and online throughout Ontario.
What Is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is a general term that refers to a type of “talk therapy” performed by a licensed therapist. The goal of psychotherapy is to assist individuals who are experiencing mental illnesses, emotional difficulties, and problems coping by talking about and expressing their feelings. Psychotherapists assist people with changing their undesirable attitudes, behaviours, and habits while promoting more healthy ways of coping. People choose therapy for a range of reasons, and there’s no “right or wrong” reason to see a therapist. If you’re feeling like you need extra support and guidance, we invite you to reach out.
Types of Psychotherapy
There are many different approaches and types of counselling that fall under the umbrella of “psychotherapy”. With 12+ experienced practitioners, we are happy to offer therapy utilizing many of the most common models.
Some of the psychotherapy models we use include:
- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Internal Family Systems (IFS)
- Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
- Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
- Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Narrative Therapy
